Fathom and CT Nonprofits Turn Nonprofit Marketers Into Social Media Champs

Award-winning marketing and creative consultancy Fathom, together with Connecticut Association of Nonprofits (CT Nonprofits), will lead the area's first ever social media certificate training for nonprofit organizations. The sessions will run from 9am-12pm on October 13, November 10 and December 9 and will be held at The Archdiocesan Center at St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield, CT. The cost for the sessions is $200. Seats are still available.

“Marketing budgets are slim and many nonprofits, from the American Red Cross to local churches, are finding their audiences online. If you’re in the nonprofit world, you can’t afford to miss this training,” said Sarah Gore, Training Coordinator at CT Nonprofits.

The goal of the training is to help marketing directors develop a sustainable plan for implementing social media. Core to the training will be helping each participant become a social media champion for its organization. Participants will need laptops and accounts on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter, as well as a basic understanding of how to use the platforms.

“This training session will help transform participants from basic users to social media champs. The goal is to help everyone walk away with a strategy that makes sense for their organization,” said Suzi Craig, Fathom’s Director of Marketing & Engagement and one of the session’s instructors.

Each session is structured to help participants leave the classroom with distinct activities that they can implement during the month long break. Session titles include: “You First: Understanding Environments, Gaining Experience and Sparking Engagement” (Session 1), “Bringing Social Media Into Your Organization” (Session 2), “Developing A Marketing Plan With Social Media” (Session 3).

Along with the nine hours of training, one participant will be chosen as a Case Study and receive personal training sessions with Fathom. Each participant will receive a certificate of completion and a guideline for creating a strategic marketing plan using social media.
